The department of Pharmacology

A basic medical sciences specialty department, deals with imparting knowledge and skills concerning with drugs and its administration to aspiring medical students.

The department is located on ground floor of the college block. The department is armed with dedicated dynamic faculties as per MCI norms. The students are catered with multiple innovative teaching methodologies. Other than traditional delivery of knowledge, every UG students learns pharmacology by participation in innovative methods like role play, skits, and seminars. We as a department believe more in small group activities and student centric innovative teaching methodologies.

We are equipped with two demonstration hall with 75 student capacity each , Experimental pharmacology lab, Clinical pharmacology lab, CAL(Computerised assisted learning) Lab and a spacious departmental library with journals and latest upgraded edition of reference books. Our research lab is equipped with CNS activities screening facilities like various Mazes, Rotorod, Pole climbing apparatus, Eddys hotplate, Photoactometer.

The faculties in collaboration with students are involved in research projects in line with latest concepts, like Pdrug concept, Rational use of drugs, drug utilizations formats in various levels. Right now we have 7 ongoing projects in above said areas.

We also cater our services to our hospital in management of medication, prescription auditing, ADR reporting to pharmacovigilance center, drug information center.
